Ladies and Gentlemen, I have traveled over half our state to get here this evening. I couldn’t get away sooner because my new site was coming in at idrinkyourmilkshake.com. That site is now flowing at two thousand hits per day, and it’s paying me an income of five thousand dollars a week. I have two others uploading and sixteen producing at About.com. So — Ladies and Gentlemen — if I say I’m a web man, you will agree.

I just got another email congratulating me on my fabulous wealth and good fortune, so just to be perfectly clear — I was trying to be clever by quoting the movie. The site is currently earning pennies a day. Nobody’s clicking on the Google Ads because they’re all for milkshake and smoothie recipes. And that’s ok — I set up idrinkyourmilkshake.com because I’m obsessed with the movie, and (to quote Sofia Coppola) “because I could.” Somebody had to grab that domain and do something with it, and it’s not really much of a “business endeavor” at all.
That said, it’s getting very good traffic, thanks to links from GreenCine, Movie City Indie, Awards Daily, Hollywood Elsewhere, Defamer, Slash Film, and anybody who googles “I drink your milkshake.” People seem to be thrilled with their email addresses (and I’m pleased because they’re painless to set up), but I’m most excited about the discussions that are starting to happen — people are actually looking to talk about the movie, and that’s what’s always most rewarding to me.

Hey man, How do I get the free email? :) I am obsessed with the movie too! I saw the midnight sneak preview showing in austin and I cannot stop thinking about it! I’m off to see it again the moment it hits another theater in my town!

Brilliant! Well done. Thanks so much for sharing your love of the film and drawing so many folks into an on-going discussion. A much needed platform given the conversation this film begs for many.
