I was sort of aware of many of these bands but hadn't spent serious time listening to them. Their show definitely made me love Wilco more, I'm going to listen to a lot more Roots, Dave Murray was amazing, and I want to explore The Hold Steady. I'm definitely seeing Gogol Bordello again the next chance I get. Never heard of Hot Chip before but I've got them playing right now. And a great rediscovery: I'd seen Manu Chao around 1990 in Berlin as Mano Negra and always remembered it as one of the crazier shows ever--but never made the connection that this was the same guy. I also discovered that I like Gillian Welch a lot better than I thought. And like I said, everybody was good or great-- Salvador Santana, Jennifer Niceley and John Paul White definitely deserve some more attention too.
