In Mike Judge’s much delayed follow-up to Office Space, Luke Wilson wakes up in a future where everybody’s gone stupid. What’s supposed to serve as scathing critique of the dumbing-down of American culture provides the background for a few good jokes and a lot of obvious ones–I couldn’t help but feel I’d gotten a little dumber from watching this. The Wikipedia entry mentions the release issues; Fox buried the film. Idiocracy rates a surprisingly high 65% a Rotten Tomatoes. If you’re still curious, you can get it on DVD starting tomorrow.
