A post-most 80s horror classic, which just happened to be written by Chris Columbus. Part 2 was disappointingly derivative, but the original is still solid, winking, hilarious, and perfectly anarchic. Marcy nailed it: these monsters don’t just want to destroy things, they want fun. The hatred directed at xmas earned it the #1 spot on our latest best of list and might make this film a new family tradition. “They’re watching Snow White–and they love it!” Mogwai so cute.
